About

To all friends of emBOLDen Alliances,

The challenges of 2020 allowed deep reflection and strategizing regarding outcomes and opportunities.

Through unanimously passed resolution, we officially wound down emBOLDen Alliances as a registered 501(c)3 organization, 31 December 2020. This decision, while not being taken lightly, was made with an invigorating eye toward the future.

As the Founding Director, I am honored to share that together, we:

  • built 8+ years of a very unique entity,

  • partnered with 90+ locally-led entities,

  • positively impacted 1,000,000+ community members in development and crisis contexts,

  • maintained 87% – 91% funds dedicated to programs,

  • won 6 global awards,

  • created meaningful thought leadership, and

  • always centered on listening, putting local partners first.

Steeped in decades of hands-on experience with communities, we have been “ahead of the curve” (quoted feedback from our network) in terms of our focus, methodology, and impact.

Now, let’s continue to emBOLDen local entities and ensure that local solutions are the first, last, and always for their own communities!
